Account Manager - Life Sciences - Germany

Post description

 

Reporting to the Sales Manager DACH, you will be responsible for developing business in South-West Germany (Hessen, RLP, Baden-Württemberg, Saarland) by engaging with researchers, lab managers, life sciences academia and procurement managers, understanding their needs, and coordinating with other teams to find suitable solutions.

 

A background in Life Sciences (Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Health Sciences e.g.) is essential for success in this role.
 

Develop Business in Assigned Existing Accounts

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all client concerns and needs.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure the right solutions for customers and enhance processes to prevent additional issues.
  • Strengthen client relationships to establish long-term partnerships, develop contracts, and explore up-selling and cross-selling opportunities.

Acquire New Business

  • Define a strategy, with guidance from the Sales Manager, to acquire assigned accounts.
  • Initiate contacts with relevant stakeholders in the assigned accounts.
  • Drive the sales process by scheduling appointments, understanding account requirements, and closing sales.

Market and Customer Watch

  • Contribute to identifying industry trends through customer feedback and collaboration with internal teams.
  • Attend relevant conferences across Europe in collaboration with our European Event Manager.

Your main tools will be CRM and your networking capabilities. You will maintain accurate records in CRM to track contact persons, responsibilities, corporate news on the account, and interactions.

 

This position involves regular travel within the territory to meet customers and attend events, as well as occasional travel outside the territory to meet colleagues and attend corporate meetings.

Profile required

 

To succeed in this position, you must have :

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in biology/biomedical sciences/health sciences or any related degree. Preferably RNA & Nucleic Acid, Cell & Gene Therapy, Immuno-Oncology and/or Bioproduction knowledge.
  • Fluency in English and German.
  • 2/3 years’ sales experience is mandatory.
  • Soft skills : autonomy, results-orientation, customer focus, perseverance, ability to work with multiple and varied contacts, communication skills, proactivity.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems is essential.
