N-(NHS ester-PEG4)-N-bis(PEG4-azide) functions as a branched linker containing two azides and a terminal NHS ester. The azide is reactive towards strained cyclooctynes and other alkynes using click chemistry. The NHS ester is able to react specifically and efficiently with amines (e.g. the side chain of lysine residues or aminosilane-coated surfaces). PEG linkers provide high aqueous solubility, and altering PEG length can alter DMPK.

Methyltetrazine-amido-PEG8-amine, TFA salt is a heterobifunctional linker containing a terminal methyltetrazine, which can react with TCO-containing compounds without the catalysis of Cu or elevated temperatures, and terminal amine, which reacts with NHS ester specifically and efficiently. The PEG spacer enhances water solubility.

DSPE-PEG-alkyne, MW 2,000 is a lipid PEG with a hydrophilic phosphate head with hydrophobic lipid tails. The molecule can self-assemble in water to form lipid bilayer with hydrophobic tails facing the inner area and hydrophilic head facing outward interacting with water. The compound can be used to prepare nanoparticles or liposomes as drug nanocarriers to deliver therapeutics, such as mRNA/DNA vaccine. The alkyne group enables click reaction with azido molecules in the presence of Cu catalyst.

DSPE-PEG-Fluor 647, MW 5,000 is a bright green-fluorescent dye consisting of a PEG 5k spacer between the hydrophilic phosphate head and hydrophobic lipid tails. The dye is water soluble and pH-insensitive from pH 4 to pH 10. It has 4 sulfonate groups, making it more hydrophilic and less aggregating in aqueous solutions. The polymer can self-assemble to form lipid bilayer in water.
