TAF1 is a DNA-binding protein complex required for RNA polymerase II-mediated transcription of many, if not all, protein-encoding genes in eukaryotic cells. TAF1 plays a key role in the initiation process, since it binds to the TATA element to form a complex that nucleates the assembly of the other components into a preinitiation complex and that may be stable through multiple rounds of transcription. TAF1 may be targeted to specific chromatin-bound promoters and may play a key role in chromatin recognition (1). TAF1 also serves to link the control of transcription to the cell cycle (2). TAF1 Protein is ideal for investigators involved in Signaling Proteins, Cellular Proteins, Cell Cycle, and Invasion/Metastasis research.

Tau-316 encodes the microtubule-associated protein tau (MAPT) whose transcript undergoes complex, regulated alternative splicing, giving rise to several mRNA species. Tau-316 transcripts are differentially expressed in the nervous system, depending on stage of neuronal maturation and neuron type (1). Tau-316 gene mutations have been associated with several neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, Pick's disease, frontotemporal dementia, cortico-basal degeneration and progressive supranuclear palsy (2). Tau-316 Protein is ideal for investigators involved in Signaling Proteins, Tau Proteins, Invasion/Metastasis, Neurobiology, and p38 Pathway research.

Tau-352 is a member of the Tau family of proteins which function to stabilize the microtubules by binding to them. Tau proteins are subject to phosphorylation and this phenomenon regulates the association of the Tau protein with the microtubules (1). Deposits of Alzheimer's disease AD-associated proteins, such as hyperphosphorylated Tau, as well as other shared misfolded proteins, such as, β-amyloid precursor protein (βAPP), ubiquitin, and various chaperones and protein kinases are thought to play a pathologic role in the cognitive decline and muscular failure. Malfunctioning of Tau proteins is associated with microtubules disintegration and collapsing of the neuronal transport system (2). Tau-352 Protein is ideal for investigators involved in Signaling Proteins, Tau Proteins, Invasion/Metastasis, Neurobiology, and p38 Pathway research.
