This antibody is a humanized monoclonal antibody which recognizes SARS-CoV-2 spike RBD and the full-length spike proteins in the native trimeric conformation. This antibody is derived from rabbit monoclonal C-A11 neutralizing antibody (BPS Bioscience, #101024). It cross-reacts with the wildtype as well as the B.1.617.2 (Delta Variant), B.1.617.2.1 (Delta PLUS Variant), B.1.1.7 (Alpha Variant) RBDs and spike protein trimers [See Table of variants]. The human ACE2 receptor is found on the surface of type I and II pneumocytes, endothelial cells, and ciliated bronchial epithelial cells. ACE2 is known to mediate COVID-19 infection through direct binding of the SARS-CoV-2 Sike protein. This neutralizing antibody has been functionally tested using BPS Bioscience Spike RBD: ACE2 Inhibitor Screening Kits (available for purchase).

Recombinant SARS-CoV-2 Spike protein in its homotrimeric form, containing S1+S2 subunits and encompassing amino acids 16-1213. This protein corresponds to SARS-CoV-2 Variant B.1.351, also known as variant Beta originally discovered in South Africa, and contains the nine known mutations listed below, in addition to deletion 242-244. It also contains mutations 682RRAR685>A, K986P and V987P. The construct has a C-terminal His-tag (6xHis). Note that the expected MW of the S1+S2 monomer is 137kDa but migrates at a higher MW in SDS-PAGE due to glycosylation. The recombinant protein was affinity purified.<br /><br />*Deletion 242-244 is known as 241-243 in some databases and on the CDC website. This is the same deletion. As stated by Tegally et al., Nature 2021: "We also observe a deletion of three amino acids at positions 242 to 244, which was seen in samples extracted and generated in different laboratories across the NGS-SA. This region is difficult to align; the deletion could potentially

Anti-CD235a antibody is a purified biotinylated recombinant human antibody which recognizes the CD235a/GYPA protein. This antibody has been tested for specific binding to purified human CD235a protein (BPS Bioscience #101196) in a colorimetric ELISA binding assay. This protein is enzymatically biotinylated using Avi-Tag™ technology. Biotinylation is confirmed to be ≥90%.
