iPSC Research: specialized manufacturers for quality reagents

In a previous post, I introduced a selection of routine as well as innovative reagents for pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) research. Here, I’d like to present  a few more interesting products, with a focus on several manufacturers specialized in this domain: Primorigen, Stemgent and Stemcultures.

Primorigen xeno-free vitronectin

Primorigen’s Vitronectin XF™ is a high quality, low cost, user-friendly replacement for BD Matrigel™ for stem cell culture and stem cell differentiation. It contributes to maintaining pluripotency, normal karyotype and colony morphology, and supports differentiation. Vitronectin XF™ is a defined, recombinant fusion protein containing the full length human vitronectin sequence, expressed in human cells under chemically defined, xeno-free conditions. Easy to use, coating is performed at room temperature.

Stemgent molecules

Stemolecule

Stemolecule is an original brand of the Stemgent company for a series of small molecules that are reagents useful for stem cell reprogramming, maintenance or differentiation. Most Stemolecules such as Y27632 and CHIR99021 are enzyme inhibitors and used as cell culture medium additives. Stemolecule are high quality reagents validated by Stemgent for their superior performance in stem cell applications.

Stemfect

The Stemfect RNA Transfection Kit is a proprietary mixture of lipid components specifically designed for in vitro RNA transfection. This kit has been shown to deliver mRNA, siRNA and miRNA. Stemfect RNA Transfection Kit provides greater than or equal to 90% transfection efficiency of mRNA into a range of cell types with greater than 95% viability.

Stemcultures Beads

StemBeads FGF2 is an innovative encapsulated growth factor supplement that offers a more efficient way to grow FGF2 dependent stem cell cultures. Already verified in a number of top stem cell labs in the USA and Europe, this supplement delivers a steady release of growth factor into your media of choice creating a more stable environment allowing for:

  • Reduction of Media Changes
  • Significant Savings on Media Costs and Time
  • Better Quality Cultures by Reduction of Spontaneous Differentiation
  • Use of Your Favorite Media, No Change of Culture Conditions.

Feel free to contact me if you need any advice in finding the right reagents for your pluripotent stem cells research. I’ll be happy to help!
