GGCT (γ-Glutamylcyclotransferase, C7orf24) is a glutathione homeostasis-related enzyme, which is highly expressed in cancer cells. While GGCT expression is low in normal cells, GGCT overexpressed cells dramatically increase its proliferation. Meanwhile, cell proliferation and migration are suppressed in GGCT KO cancer cells. This knowledge suggests that GGCT accelerates cell proliferation. Existing GGCT inhibitors, such as N-glutaryl-L-alanine (GA), do not have cell membrane permeability, and cannot be used for cell culture and animal experiment. Pro-GA is the world’s first pro-drug type of GA, which penetrates into cells with inhibition activity to GGCT.

Our AcroleinRED is the world first cell-based acrolein-detection reagent in live cells condition without any pre-treatment and cell lysis. This reagent is based on novel phenylazide-acrolein click chemistry discovered by Drs. Katsunori Tanaka and Ambara Pradipta (Ref.1). AcroleinRED specifically react with either extracellular acrolein conjugate released from cell surface lipids or intracellular acrolein generated via enzymatic pathway and label acrolein with TAMRA fluorophore.

Controllable NO donor (original name; NO-Rosa5) is a novel NO donor controllable by visible light. Controllable NOdonor has two moieties, rosamine fluorescent dye as light harvesting group and N-nitrosoaminophenol structure as NO releasing moiety and releases NO molecules triggered by photoinduced electron transfer (PeT). It shows low photo-toxicity, low cytotoxicity, and efficient NO releasing by yellowish green light irradiation.
