Fluorescent Activated Cell Sorting (FACS) and Immunofluorescence (IF) staining buffer is a diluent buffer optimized for use in flow cytometry and immunofluorescence assay of viable and/or fixed cells. FACS and IF staining, washing buffer contains 1% BSA as carrier and stabilizer to reduce non-specific binding of antibodies and fluorochrome reagents to targets cells. Metabolic inhibitors and NaN3 are also included in the flow cytometry and immunofluorescence buffer to prevent patching, capping of surface antigen and bacterial growth.

DNA from Calf Thymus is commonly used in the preparation of prehybridization and hybridization solutions. Ideal for DNA Polymerase Assays. These prepared solutions are used to block the non-specific attachment of probe to the surface of a membrane. The DNA solutions are prepared from highly pure, phenol/chloroform-extracted DNA and DNase-free and RNase-free (DEPC-treated) distilled, deionized water.

Lambda phage consists of a virus particle including a head (also known as a capsid), a tail, and tail fibers. The head contains the phage's double-stranded circular DNA genome. The phage particle recognizes and binds to its host, E. coli, causing DNA in the head of the phage to be ejected through the tail into the cytoplasm of the bacterial cell. Lambda phage DNA is commonly used as a DNA molecular weight marker. Digestion of the Lambda phage genome with HindIII produces a set of 8 fragments consisting of 125, 560, 2000, 2300, 4300, 9400, and 23000 base pairs.
