ChromaLINK Biotin Maleimide, 10 mg, contains a UV-traceable chromophore, enabling reproducibility in the biotinylation process. Measure degree of biotinylation without the standard curves needed for HABA/avidin and fluoro-reporter assays. With a simple UV scan, quantify biotin incorporation and ensure reproducible production of batches. The maleimide group reacts with free thiol groups on biomolecules and surfaces, such as the hinge region of antibodies after mild reduction of sulfhydryl groups.
BCECF is the most widely used intracellular pH probe. BCECF is highly water-soluble because it has 4 to 5 negative charges at neutral pH; it becomes difficult to pass through the cell membrane after loading. Its pKa value, 6.97, is higher than that of carboxyfluorescein. BCECF has an isosbestic point at 439 nm in the excitation spectra, so it can be used in ratiometry, similar to Fura 2.
