m-PEG(5K)-PLL(3K) is a linear amphiphilic block copolymer comprised of polyethylene glycol (PEG) and Poly(L-Lysine) (PLL). The hydrophilic PEG increases solubility in aqueous media. Upon dispersion in water, the polymer self-assembles to form micelles with PLL core and PEG shell. The core can be used as reservoir for hydrophobic drugs while the shell can provide protection from degradation (enzymatic/hydrolysis).
