The E.Z.N.A.® Total RNA Kit II is designed for isolating total cellular RNA from tissues rich in fat, such as brain adipose tissues. However, this kit can also be used for the isolation of total RNA from other types of tissues including cultured eukaryotic cells, animal tissues, or bacteria. The E.Z.N.A.® Total RNA Kit II uses the reversible binding properties of HiBind® matrix, a new silica-based material. By combining the high lysis efficiency of RNA-Solv® Reagent with Omega Bio-tek’s innovative HiBind® technology, this kit can extract total cellular RNA from all types of animal or human tissues including fatty tissues such as brain and adipose tissue. A specifically formulated high salt buffer system allows more than 100 µg RNA molecules greater than 200 bases to bind to the matrix. Creatine Kinase Activity Assay is a rapid, simple, reproducible, and standardized method for measuring total CK activity in biological samples. CK catalyzes the reversible phosphorylation of ADP, in the presence of creatine phosphate, to form ATP and creatine. The enzyme hexokinase (HK) uses the ATP produced to phosphorylate glucose, generating ADP and glucose-6-phosphate (G6P). G6P is then oxidized to 6-phosphogluconate, resulting in the production of NADH. The rate of NADH formation, measured at 340nm, is directly proportional to CK activity.

The RayBiotech Oxidation (Carbonyl) Detection Kit utilizes the ‘biotin probes’ method to biotin label carbonyl groups of oxidized proteins. The biotin labelled proteins can then be detected by western blotting. This assay can label 40 samples containing 100-200 µg of total protein each.
