      The Fluorogenic HDAC Assay Kit is a complete assay system designed to measure histone deacetylase (HDAC) class 1 activity for screening and profiling applications. The kit comes in a convenient 96-well format, with all the reagents necessary for 100 fluorescent HDAC activity measurements. In addition, the kit includes purified HDAC2 enzyme and a potent HDAC inhibitor, Trichostatin A, for use as a positive and negative control. This assay method eliminates dealing with the radioactivity, extraction, and chromatography aspects of traditional assays. This substrate fluoresces at excitation 350-380 nm, emission at 440-460 nm. This substrate exhibits longer excitation and emission wavelengths (excitation 485 nm, emission 528 nm) than our regular class 1/2b HDAC substrate, #50037, which fluoresces at excitation 350-380 nm, emission at 440-460 nm. This substrate should be used when the inhibitor fluoresces near 450 nm. If autofluorescence is not an issue, we recommend HDAC substrate 3, #50037.
